Angelique is an otome game developed by Ruby Party in 1994 for super famicom. It was the first of it's kind and it's about as clumsy as it is lovable. I could talk all day about it, but right now I just wanna share the silly blingees I made of my favorite boys ^_^

🔧 My favorite lad, Zephel :)) He's the ingenuity-bringing guardian of steel, and he's the best one 'cos he has a mech and invents stuff and can do a back flip. He's pretty tsundere due to his rough backstory, but I think that just makes him more interesting. His previous master was very unkind. He resents his role as guardian, but he'll be fine if you bother him enough! XD He comes from a planet of robots, like in transformers! Radicool!


I really this illustration of him from etoile. Yura Kairi so totally has the best art... It's a shame, though, that they whitewash him so bad in the remakes OTL I miss the old you, Zephy...



🐶 Now there's Randy. He's the courage-bearing guardian of wind. I like him plenty, he's like rapscallion-kinda boy-next-door. He's a frisbee super star and total dog boy. Him and Zephel hate each other, which is why I like 'em so much XD

🍃 (////) Marcel is soooooo kyuuuuuuuuute. He's the bounty-bringing green guardian, and he has a little bird friend named Chupi. In the manga, he tries extra hard to help Angelique, but he messes up and gets punished. He's so kyuuuu.... I think Angelique and Marcel would make a good pair. Her girly gentleness paired with Marcel's eager niavette would be way tooth-rottingly adorable. I gotta stop thinkin' about it 'cos I'll explode from cute. His spring-like outfit just kills me (╯▽╰ )



🐲 Speaking of kyute, there's Mel, the guardian of dreams. He's an adorable little dragon child from Trois. I think Marcel and him would make great friends. Now I want to draw them having a sleepover.... Kyuteness overload... I need to order Trois right away so I can say hi to everyone!



🍰 And finally, there's Angelique herself! She's an ordinary girl with ふわふわ energy in surplus. Oh, and she's supposed to become god too XD I really like these kinds of saccharine-sweet country bumpkin girls despite neither being a girl nor very sweet myself. But she has such a lovable look to her, you want to cheer her on.



And there it is ^_^ A very rambly kinda post, but I just wanted to do something silly. I love this game a lot despite its flaws. Also, I wanted to procrastinate on work. Indulging in this kind of thing is okay sometimes, isn't it?

I'll leave this final song behind. It's a very cheesy stupid song called I don't know ～世界で一番大切な君に～ from the album Angelique ~White Dream~ sung by Zephel and Randy (even though they hate each other). There are lots of Angelique albums with lots of character songs, most of which are catchy and all of which are hilarious

OMIGOSHHHHH AAAAAAA YOU'RE AN ANGELIQUE FAN TOO??????? I know it's a coincidence but I lovelovelovelove Angelique to BITS especially since it's my first otome game EVER + first JP game as well and what got me into learning Japanese + loving otome games😭😭😭😭 personally I ship Randy/Limohe, Oscar/Limoge (he was my first) and Brian/Limoge and Nyx/Neo!Ange but I still love adore Zephel he's a cutie🥺🥺🥺🥺 I squealed so hard when I saw your Zephel plusie pic I want one tooo!!!!!! Sorry for commenting so ruthlessly on your journal aaaaa all the best wishes with you!!!!!!!!

NO I AM SO HAPPY HEHE YAY (～￣▽￣)～ I love the series a lot, I wished to talk about it to somebody. I've played the original, special and 2 (going to be playing requiem in time) and I've watched a bunch of the animes. I actually just picked up Neo a month ago for cheap! The disc is so so cute with the lace around it~ I need to fix up my ps2 so I can play it properly. While the junior trio are my favorites, I still like everyone else. Oscar I also adore, he looks like a classic manly JRPG guy (////) I have a keychain of him, Randy, and Clavis. They are so small I kinda wanna eat them. But I wont... That would be bad... But they're so small....
While it wasn't my first otome it was a comfort game for me, I just really like the ultra girly look. I used it to study JP, along with Summon Night.
Also your blog is super cool, it has been a great resource! I'm replaying SNX again it's such a fantastic game.
PS: i love Garrit SOOOO MUCH!

ME TOO OMG!!!! Among all of my favorites in all of the Ange series I think I adore Nyx, Rosalia, Victor, Randy, Oscar, Raine, Limoge!Ange, Rachel, Brian, plus I sort of love-hate Leviath when I played the prequel to Ange: Heaven's Requiem (Maren no Kishi), I feel it had the same artist as Princess Arthur but idk Leviath and Lanslot (from PA) both get on my nerves for some reason (even if Leviath made me cry so much)

ALSO AAAAAAA you're a Garrit stan too!!!?!?!?!!? EEEEEEE I had to compose myself for a minute 😭😭😭😭😭 he's essentially my greatest love among all the husbandos I adore among all games🥺🥺 he's both precious and the most trustworthy guy you could rely on, he's honest and extremely frank and he can be off-putting sometimes if you get on his bad side but he's really sweet😭😭😭 I love the friendship quartet between Phara, Garrit, Muu-Muu and Dylan so much I wish they expanded on it more, it's a bit irrational though that I still simp for the same guy since 2017 and now I'm a grown adult, time flies so fast aaa😭😭 sadly SNX merch is super duper rare so I had to resort to commissioning plushies + keycbains from small, local businesses and designing layouts for my custom pins for them to print too, I hope it's not illegal for Japan's standards😭😭😭😭

Also this is more of a personal thing but Garrit x Phara was really my biggest source of seratonin throughout the years, whenever I feel down in the dumps I always, always come back to SNX, I was extremely distraught when they shut down Samo Memories though because the though of Garrit and Phara being drawn in mainseries SN's art style + mainseries SN-style sprites makes me squee, but for some reason Bandai Namco shut down summonnight.net and it just redirects back to Bandai's main website and Felistella refuses to come back to the series, I wonder why😭
