in which chippy talks about le cinema gals they think are pretty but not in a weird sense like in a styling/theatrical sense, and they will also overuse the adjectives "cute!" and "pretty!" too often like they have the vocabulary of a 9 year old
look at that, they used pink because of feminism! i'm a feminist! please believe me!
NO ANIME GIRLS ALLOWED
フェミニズム的な考え
AKA: pretty sparkly outfits fweeee
Hi i'm chippy and I like to watch LE CINEMA and look at PRETTY WOMEN and then open up twitter dot com and go, "oh my lord, does she know how gorgeous she is? she's TOTALLY my ideal!!! xxxx "
I feel to some degree I have an obsession with the feminine in a purely dreamy, costume sense. I don't really care for most of these things on myself, as stated many times before I yam BASED X-GENDER MECHA PILOT and NEW SINCERITY COWBOY, so in real life I like dressing in a more masculine style (old fashioned, with elbow-pad sweaters, loafers, and a proper coat for outings). But my heart still rings out for cute frilly lacy things, for shiny things, for chiffon and tulle and silk! I want to be surrounded by pretty things like that! Hyaaaaaaaahn! It's unbearable... totally unbearable.... So let me project a little bit. I'm really serious about this sort of thing!
😘veronika lake but specifically in i married a witch🧹
rating: cutiedorbs
literally died when i saw this
I Married a Witch is a pretty damn short flick from 1942 where a witch, the gorj Veronika Lake, does some goofy stuff on a stressed out guy of some kind and accidentally drinks her own love potion. Hijinks ensue. I forget most of it, but I think a building burned down. Well, basically, Lake is just the most cutiedorbstastic here. the whole point of the film is to show how impossible it is to not fall in love with her, and it does a decent job of that. She has this youthful, cheeky smile on for much of the film, she almost seems catlike for her pension for getting into places she most certainly should not be. I'm sorta disappointed by how totally enraptured she was by the guy after taking the love potion which is to be expected, but maybe if she was more mischievous...? Well, it's just one of those old fashioned things where guys think a loving your man is personality enough but it's not like it was a terribly deep movie anyhow. Okay, back to the Lake.
dies part 2: electric boogaloo
I wonder if some teen had this pinned up at his bedside where dying of liver failure in WW2.

meiko kaji
🔥🔥🔥"what are you?" / "REVENGE."🔥🔥🔥
Her expression is stern with a clear disdain at the edges, and the way her hair frames her face is so 70's I could just die. When the wind sweeps it... Hyaaaaahn! And it looks disheveled! And she's also always dangerous, like she won't be stopped until she gets her revenge! She always looks good, whether it's a bloodstained yukata or an oversized men's coat. Really, it's the determination that takes the cake. She could only be so consumed by the hunt if she was truly wounded. A dangerous, bitter, yet vulnerable killer. Kyaaaan. I can hardly take it.
your honor, it's ART!
Her Female Prisoner Scorpion fit is by far my favorite. She looks so mysterious. In a crowd, she sticks out. Like if you blink, she'll vanish... So cool.
it's like i'm getting sliced to shreds! kyaaaan!

^_^ i luv u kaji
Huh? Wasn't I supposed to be writing about frills and sugary stuff? Somehow, my mind is going to a dangerous direction... Well, I love all women and this is my blog, so I'll just do whatever I want. I'm closing my tabs right now because if I look at Kaji too long, I'll lose my mind. I really wish she'd leave a scar. Nowadays, she plays the mother in What Did You Eat Yesterday. No, okasan, I'm not half-assing the homosexual lifestyle!
😉josephine baker🎩
rating: pls date me
kind of a goddess
I suppose Kaji and Lake are considered sex symbols-- the star of dirty exploitation films swathed in blood, and the gorgeous blonde on the silver screen-- but Baker really is the sexiest. She started life off terribly poor and experiencing racial violence and then hit it big with her erotic dances in France (ew! France mention!). She was famous for something called a "banana outfit". Go ahead and look it up. Yup, there sure are bananas. But besides the banana work, she was quite the civil rights activist and was totally bisexual... Rumor has it she got it on with Frido Kahlo and even Colette (the french novelist, that is). Hmm. I wonder how well I could rock it in sapphic Paris... pros: women. cons: france. Much to think about.
everything the hays code fought against... cowards...
I really love this picture 'cos she's got this big smile that says "I know I'm a star, so stand and watch!" The kinda cheeky pose is cute too. Ah, I love bonnets like that. I'd wear them if people wouldn't call me a sheep herder or something.
She would be almost 50 in this photo. I love her short gelled hair the most, but that woulda been outdated by this point. She's a total queen. Like...a queen beehive... Queen Bee... Once again, I think what makes her so magnetic is the fact that she knows how gorgeous she is. On the silver screen, the extra dark makeup and hair would pop so well! Hyaaaan! If only I was in France at the time... No, I can't say that. Anywhere but there. Anyhow, when I think of the Jazz era, I think of her.
le conclusion: i have a job i should probably go do it
Sigh... I feel healed... Sometimes, you just have to yell about this sort of thing. I have to go back to phone calls and emails now. But in my head... It's the 20's... and I'm watching a jazz singer... and I'm going to the theater... and I get stabbed in the street by a beautiful killer in a black coat. I'd be so happy like that. Sigh. Sigh, sigh, sigh. I have to go now. I want to listen to jazz now... HYANNN! I'M SO PUNISHED! Okay, farewell, and watch lots of movies with lots of beautiful women!
